In general terms, the field of Management Information Systems, aims to enable its students to break into the markets where the global competition continues under the shadow of technology, as qualified individuals. Management Information Systems program, with its wide range of academic curricula and programs -and primarily based on university missions- aims to educate students to use their knowledge and skills in academic and industrial fields. It is an area that seeks to train active individuals for the society and for the business circles, in a multidisciplinary framework by bringing together two different disciplines as “Management” and “Informatics”.
Banking and Finance Undergraduate Program is a department that has the vision of raising the specialists who are able to find financial resources under the most favorable conditions, and use them in the most efficient and effective way while bringing their projects into action. These specialists are widely and intensely needed by every person, institution and organization that spends money. The aim of the program is to educate students who respect the universal values, are self-confident and high decision-making experts. Rapid developments in the financial sector all over the world increase the need for this field day by day. In this context, Banking and Finance Undergraduate Program is designed to provide a quality education and training that will prepare its students to take an active role in the world of finance and economics after their graduation, in order to meet this need.
The main purpose of university education is to improve students’ skills in problem solving and critical thinking. Despite being around only for the past 140 years, the discipline of psychology is among the most important scientific fields of the 21st century. Researches conducted in psychology aim to bring together interdisciplinary methodologies that range from behavioral measures to neurobiological measures.
Bahçeşehir Cyprus University (BAU Cyprus) Department of Psychology offers a four-year undergraduate degree. The psychology undergraduate degree program is designed to provide students with knowledge about the major theories of contemporary psychology and techniques. It introduces students to various subfields of psychology and provides a comprehensive education in the field.
The program provides students with the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in psychological principles, code of professional conduct, theories and research methodologies. Based on this foundation BAU Cyprus Psychology graduates are prepared to continue pursuing a specialized graduate degree program in various subfield of psychology such as Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Forensic Psychology, Psychology of Health, Industry Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, Sport Psychology, Educational Psychology, etc.). Moreover, the psychology undergraduate degree program curriculum offered by BAU Cyprus is specifically designed to meet the standards of European Diploma in Psychology (EuroPsy) to ensure students receive internationally recognized diplomas which will enable them to practice psychology anywhere they choose to do so.
The aim of the Economics undergraduate programme is to educate economics who can focus on problem-solving in a global, digitalized, platform-driven economic structure, who can think fast, and take decisions with a scientific approach to apply these in order to shape global processes with a local and national vision.
The Department of Social Work is a practice-oriented field that aims to positively contribute to social change and to increase the well-being of individuals and society as a whole. Values such as social justice, responsibility towards the individual and society, respect for diversity and human rights form the basis of the department. Social workers bring individuals and social institutions together to improve welfare. The Department of Social Work prepares students with a strong theoretical background by using interdisciplinary approaches, making use of fields such as psychology, sociology, public health, law, and social policy. Therefore, the department aims to train students who can contribute to the welfare of society by using scientific approaches and practices. In this context, the aim of the Department of Social Work is to train students so that they can contribute to public health and social justice by employing the policies of social institutions in a qualified way.
Political Science and International Relations covers a broad range of topics such as; how states, organizations, and institutions interact at state and international levels; channels of communication and networks that have evolved through the process of globalisation; the foreign policies of states; democratization processes; political parties and electoral systems; state structures; national and international security; and the impacts on societies during these processes.
